Paul McCartney is okay with the idea of downloading songs and not paying for it. According to what he said to the Daily Express, he doesn’t have a problem with people going online and downloading songs for free.

He says, “It’s weird for me (the concept of downloading). I’m not from that. I’m from going into a shop and buying a 45. We’ve come through vinyl, tapes and CDs - it’s all the same, except people don’t pay for it (now). I don’t mind. It works out.”

What’s weird for me is that none of the Beatles songs are available for downloads in iTunes.

I came across this video online and I could not resist posting about it. It might have been around for a while but it’s still worth checking out. The video is about Juan Mayor, a songwriter who got jacked by John Mayer. He explains how his songs are oddly similar to Mayer’s popular songs. Who do you think is the original?

According to sources (which I will not name), Apple is in talk with 3 major labels about a possibility of DRM-free songs from itunes. One of the biggest reason that I hate buying songs from itunes is that they implement that fairplay thing to limit the playability of these songs. This is good news if this pulls through. Sony might be one of these companies in talks with Apple. If this is true, I may dust-off my old ipod. I’ve since given up on the hassle of buying songs from apple because of this reason. I know there are numerous work around to this but it’s too much hassle. I can’t be spending time figuring out how to get rid of the protection crap from my songs, I’ve got some blogging to do. I buy songs from walmart.com and the songs can play both in my ipod and my other .mp3 players. I only go to itunes to get songs that are sometimes not listed on walmart like indie music and other non-mainstream songs. We’ll just wait and see what happens to this one. I’m keeping my fingers crossed on this one.

You’ve probably heard (or read) about Michael Jackson being sued by an arab sheik because apparently M.J. owes him $7 million.

But now, his attorney claims that Michael might be too sick to travel to London to testify in court. The sheik’s attorney however says that the excuse was unsatisfactory.

Michael owed the sheik from a dropped album project back in 2006. The two met in the middle of the child molestation controversy of which the sheik invited MJ to his country to get away from all the chaos after which they both worked on the music together.
