You better start believing! Journey’s hit song “Don’t Stop Believin’” was the first song available from the catalog to sell more than 2 million downloads through iTunes. The song was originally released in 1981 and has been available for download since April 2003. Journey, the band responsible for hits such as Open Arms and Faithfully has now become the only pre-digital band to have the biggest catalog song on digital platforms.
Being the soundtrack of the finale of the greatest TV show in the world, The Sopranos, gave this song a big boost in popularity.
Bruce Springstein is appearing in a news paper ad promoting the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, which is the state’s largest food bank. The ad is cleverly titled: “We Can’t Let This Bank Fail!” correlating the idea to our economic crisis which has been the reason of massive meltdowns of some major banks in the U.S. And according to the food bank, there is a 30 percent increase in those needing food caused by our failing economy.
Springstein has been a supporter of the food bank for 23 years. He has been known to have donated proceeds from his concerts as well as raising awareness and encouring other fans to donate food as well.
Country music phenom Taylor Swift celebrated the release of her new album, Fearless, at an exclusive event held at the Taylor Guitars Factory here in El Cajon, California on November 5th. Taylor Swift and her band performed to an audience of nearly 200 contest winners and other guests including songs from her new album which is releasing today, Tuesday, November 11.

Accodring to Jessi Schimdt, his spokeswoman, Tim Mcgraw will host the November 22nd Saturday Nigh Live show on NBC. Mc Graw is joining a short list of country stars who has hosted the show, including Garth Brooks, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and Dolly Parton.

Guns N’ Roses has launched the Chinese Democracy air guitar competition. Chinese Democracy is their forthcoming new album that will be released this month. The winner of the competition will get a chance to preview the album before its release.
To enter the competition fans need to upload video footage of their “craziest, most inappropriate” air guitar attempts to the band’s YouTube channel.
One winner will win entry to a pre-release album playback party ‘Chinese Democracy’ will be released on November 24 in the UK, and will feature 14 songs.
