According to BBC news, Rock guitarist Joe Satriani has filed a lawsuit against the Grammy nominated band Coldplay for using one of his riffs for the song Viva La Vida.

The alleged plaguiarism is from his 2004 instrumental “If I Could Fly”.

I am a big fan of Joe Satriani’s music and I can only hope that he gets his share of the profits from the sales of La Vida songs. That song has been a steady chart topper and has probably made Coldplay quite a few bucks.

Coldplay is up for 7 Grammys including song of the year.
