A blogger accused of leaking 9 tracks from the unreleased GNR album ‘Chinese Democracy’ has pleaded guilty. Kevin Cogill will be sentenced to a year in federal prison and will pay a ’significant’ fine.
Kevin leaked 9 out of 14 tracks from the album on his blog months before the years in the making album was to be released.
Cogill told the judge that he was not seeking financial gain when he illegally posted the songs on the blog Antiquiet, but that he understood “all the attention helped.”
Mr. Cogill’s sentencing is set for March 3.
