Mariah Carey has been called out by some outraged scientists regarding her misquoting Albert Einstein’s formula, E=MC2. Mariah’s recent album has been named after the famous math equation but was caught referencing it as “Emancipation equals Mariah Carey times 2″.
Mathematician Dr. David Leslie told BBC News that he was upset that the singer had “misread the algebra.”
“The ‘two’ in the equation means C squared, not MC multiplied by two,” he explained. “The correct reading of the equation is E=MCC, so perhaps Mariah’s re-interpretation should have been ‘emancipation equals Mariah Carey Carey’?”
The proper way of saying it would have been “Mariah Carey to the 2nd power” I’m sure Mariah doesn’t care about some random math wizard quoting her. What Dr. Leslie forgot to calculate is that Mariah+Carey=Multi Million Dollars.

Has School of Rock professor Jack Black turned his back against rock n roll for country music?
Jack sang the traditional country tune “Old Joe Clark” on his dad-in-law’s Grammy-nominated album “Rambling Boy”
“I wasn’t sure what to expect because I haven’t recorded or really sung any old songs like that before, bluegrass style, but it came very naturally and I cranked it out in two takes,” said Black.
This would certainly be interesting. Hopefully he releases his own Tenacious D country album and give chart-toppers like Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood some much needed competition.

NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) is the biggest convention for music gear geeks. This year’s show will be from January 15-18 and is always held at the Anaheim convention center.
If you have been attending the NAMM for a long time but have always been hesitating to buy anything, well this year might be different. Due to the ailing economy, hopefully we get to see some slashed prices on some older models. But what I am curious to see is more innovation on guitars and music technologies.
Check out NAMM for more information about the show.
