Grammy Award winner Natalie Cole sings “Something’s Gotta Give.”

I liked this song! Great performance from her.

Very interesting week with the Rat Pack theme. I was worried because I thought this would be so boring but the contestants did great and one of the best weeks in my opinion.

Your top 5 started with their group songs: “I Don’t Mean a Thing” and “I Got Rhythm.” This is by far the best group performance on this season. Matt was spectacular.

Here is your bottom 3:
Matt Giraud
Kris Allen
Adam Lambert (that’s right!)

A complete shocker! The two people I thought were invincible in this show (Kris and Adam) were in the bottom 3. Me (and probably 70% of the world) has picked Adam to win this season but this proved that anyone can still win this at this stage of the show.

Matt Giraud was eliminated!

Sucks to see him go after a good performance but they were all good and someone has to go.

Adam Lambert sang “Feeling Good.”

Jami Foxx was speechless.

Randy thought it was a little too theatrical but still good. Simon said it’s the best entrance of the season.

Adam sang the Muse version of this song and thought he did a good job. This guy definitely has the vocal skills to win this competition. In fact, I’ve never heard of anyone like him. He is going to win this I’m almost sure of it.

Danny Gokey sang “Come Rain or Come Shine.”

The judges all loved it. Kara said he had the swagger to pull it off. Simon called it an outstanding performance.

I am not a big fan of the Gokey but I must admit it’s the best of the night. I thought his singing ability was superb.

Matt Giraud sang “My Funny Valentine.”

Jamie Foxx was impressed with Matt.

The comment twins Randy and Kara thought it was just alright but did not connect. Paula loved it. Simon did not agree with Randy and thought the performance was brilliant and very heartfelt.

I liked this performance. There were indeed some few pitchy spots just like what Randy said but overall I thought it was good. I didn’t get Jami Foxx’s mentoring though.

Allison Iraheta sang “Someone to Watch Over Me.”

She just celebrated her 17th birthday.

Jamie Foxx thought Allison was great and very impressed because of her age.

All the judges liked it. Simon liked it too but told Allison she might be in trouble this week. He said he lacked the commitment and the confidence to win the competition.

She did good tonight. Too bad she is having trouble connecting to the audience and viewers. She needs to stay one more week.

This week is the “Rat Pack” on American Idol and your top 5 will be singing your favorite standard songs.

First up is Kris Allen. He sang “The Way You Look Tonight.”

Randy loved it and thought it was his best performance to date. Kara said Kris is the darkhorse in the competition. Paula said it was impeccable. Simon Cowell described it as “wet.”

I found it to be a little on the safe side. It was good but not the best of the night.

Here’s an amazing clip of a kid playing Back in Black by AC/DC.

Pretty impressive. But can he do that on expert?

Here’s Shaun Kasser showing us how he gets the ladies in bed with the help of his guitar.

Featuring the lovely Kaylee DeFer and a brief solo appearance of the bikini girl.

So here’s how it works: Bring a girl to your place. Good guitar placement so she could see it and ask you about it. Play a song for her. Finger pick and Capo for sensitivity. Bed time.

Sounds like a plan.

Here is a very cool concept from Visionary Instruments. A guitar with a built in LCD screen display that responds to the music being created.

The guitar’s visualizations controlled by the built-in laptop are pretty awesome and adds another dimension to live performers.

Wonder why this has not caught on yet.
