American Idol Season 8 Finale.

Adam Lambert sings the winner’s song “No Boundaries” which was co-written by judge Kara DioGuardi.
Adam’s performance was great. I didn’t care much for the song.

Kris Allen performs the same song.

It wasn’t as great as Adam’s version. His was a little soft and not very grand but the judges agree that this song suited his voice and style.

American Idol Season 8 Finale.

Kris Allen performs “What’s Going On” by Marvin Gaye picked by American Idol producer Simon Fuller.

This was a good performance but not good enough for the finals. I thought his voice was good but the song was just too light compared to Adam’s performance.

American Idol Season 8 Finale.

Adam Lambert performs “Change is Gonna Come” by Sam Cooke. This song was picked for him by the shows producer Simon Fuller.

Great song choice by Fuller. Great performance by Adam. This was declared the winner of round 2 by Simon Cowell.

American Idol Season 8 Finale.

Kris Allen brought back the song “Ain’t No Sunshine.”

Kris did better this time as well. Wish he would’ve sang “Falling Slowly” again but this was a good performance and Simon declared Kris winner of first round.

American Idol Season 8 Finale.

Adam Lambert’s first performance was “Mad World” - a repeat of his performance back from the birth year theme week.

He perfected this song and did better than last time. Complete with special fog and lighting effects.

Simon did not like the coat and the fog. He said it was a bit too theatrical.

Last night was the big night for all three contestants of American Idol because the finale is just a week away.

Here are your bottom 3 of the night: Adam, Kris, and Danny. Kidding.

The first one safe from elimination was Kris Allen. I knew he would be safe. Not because of his performance the other night, but because they showed his homecoming and the people that showed up was overwhelming. It was like half of the city came to see him.

DANNY GOKEY was eliminated!

I really thought this will be the upset of the year with Adam going home.

American Idol Top 3 Show.

Adam Lambert’s pick for himself is “Cryin’” by Aerosmith.

This was the typical Adam Lambert performance complete with high notes and superstardom.

The judges all agree that he should be in the finals. While this performance is great, I liked his first song better.

Watch Adam Lambert sing One by U2.

American Idol Top 3 Show.

Kris’ second song of the night is Heartless by Kanye West.

Kris came out with the guitar and just did his own version of the song.

All the judges loved it and commended him for being brave.

I do commend him for coming out and taking a risk. I didn’t get all the praises though. I thought this was a plain jane song and I did not get anything out of it. Oh well.

Watch Kris Allen sing Apologize.

American Idol Top 3 Show.

Danny’s second song of the night is “You Are So Beautiful.”

The judges all thought that this was great. Simon even called it a “vocal masterclass.”

I liked this one way better than his last song which was picked by Paula Abdul.

Watch Danny Gokey’s first performance Dance Little Sister Dance.

American Idol Top 3 Show.

Adam Lambert wows the crowd with “One” by U2.

This song was picked by Simon Cowell for Adam. Simon went about to reveal that he contacted Bono personally to ask permission to use this song on the show.

The judges all praised Adam. I really liked this performance. This is probably one of my favorite of the season.
