Fender fans would love the Fender Stratocaster Coffee Table design for their home or studio. This table is officially licensed by Fender and built to Fender design specifications. Made of solid maple, it’s designed to resemble the original Fender headstock design. Guitar Center sells one for $250 but the color is slightly different and might be made out of a different type of wood.

Have you ever heard of multi-tasking? How about multi-strumming?

Some people just can’t get enough guitars. If you like playing a lot of guitars then you might love this ultimate 12-necked guitar! If one string pops you have 11 more! I know it’s obviously photoshopped by could be a fun if this was a real one. You’d have to be super fit to carry this big boy. Imagine the weight of 12 Fenders.

This video shows a guy playing a huge Fender Stratocaster electric guitar complete with a ginormous guitar pick.

This just proves that Americans want everything supersized, from meals to cars and now musical instruments.

I would’ve loved it more if the man displayed at least some talent so that we can hear how this thing sounds.

Don Randall, the person who named Fender Stratocaster has died of age-related causes. He was 91 years old. Randall was the driving force behind the brand’s success of the popular guitar model and led Leo Fender’s company to the top.

He came out with the Broadcaster name in 1950 which was Fender’s first commercial guitar and later renamed it to Telecaster due to a trademark dispute with another company. He then came up with the name Stratocaster for Fender’s newest guitar in 1957.

The Strat is one of the most commonly used electric guitar and can be heard in many historic recordings.

Fender also produces Stratocasters under the Squier brand in China, Indonesia and India at lower cost than Fender-branded models. While Squier Stratocasters are predominantly inexpensive versions of Fender Stratocasters, some models are also unique to the Squier brand, such as the OBEY Graphic series or Hello Kitty series. They also offer a starter kit through Costco, Target and other retailers, which comes with a budget Strat under the name Starcaster by Fender, which comes in standard and deluxe pickup configurations.

Fender Europe’s new Taylor Division will be the exclusive distributor for Taylor guitars in Europe, Africa, and most of the Middle East, and is expected to commence distribution operations on July 1, 2008. Taylor Guitars and FenderĀ  announced a strategic relationship between the two companies which will now work together to raise Taylor’s brand awareness throughout Europe.

“The world has become more and more flat, with cultural, currency and trade barriers becoming less and less. With the advent of the European Union, the adoption of a common currency and the free movement of goods across borders, a huge opportunity has been created to do more commerce at a higher level,” said Kurt Listug, co-founder and CEO of Taylor Guitars. “Fender has proven the concept of an American guitar and amp company successfully exporting their business model to Europe, and achieving much higher sales and brand awareness as a result.”

Listug said he approached Fender with the idea of distributing Taylor guitars in Europe, after learning how successful Fender had been with their overseas sales model. “Bill (Mendello) shared his experiences in creating Fender Europe with me a few years ago, and invited me to see their European operations first hand. I spent a week visiting their warehouse, sales offices, and even their Dusseldorf custom shop showroom. I was blown away by their incredible success in Europe, and the huge potential of their sales model for Taylor.”

“We are extremely pleased to be working closely with Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug, two admired industry leaders who have built Taylor into a premier guitar brand,” said Bill Mendello, Chairman and CEO of Fender Musical Instruments Corp. “By providing our expertise in sales, marketing, warehousing and logistics, we look forward to enhancing their success throughout the European market.”

Taylor evaluated creating its own European distribution arm versus partnering with Fender. “We considered doing it ourselves, but distribution is expensive and requires specialized expertise. Having the opportunity to work with Fender, leveraging their resources and experience into much higher European sales for Taylor, is the best decision.”
