Matt Giraud sang “My Funny Valentine.”

Jamie Foxx was impressed with Matt.

The comment twins Randy and Kara thought it was just alright but did not connect. Paula loved it. Simon did not agree with Randy and thought the performance was brilliant and very heartfelt.

I liked this performance. There were indeed some few pitchy spots just like what Randy said but overall I thought it was good. I didn’t get Jami Foxx’s mentoring though.

Matt Giraud came out with “Staying Alive.”

A very appropriate song to sing at this stage of the show for Matt. He was saved by the judges last week so he is hoping this song would help him stay alive in the competition.

The fans definitely loved it. Randy did not like the song but thought his talent is there. Kara said he brought the groove back. Paula loved the song choice.  Simon, of course, did not like it and thought it was a bit desperate.

I was actually not that impressed. He’s still my favorite but I thought the performance was a bit rushed on some parts. People please save Matt Giraud!

The bottom 3 contestants last night were Anoop, Lil, and Matt.

I was not surprised with the lowest vote getters since Lil and Matt’s performances were subpar and Anoop has been having a lot of problems getting votes lately. This is his 3rd time in the bottom 3. First time for Lil and 2nd for Matt.

Matt was the weakest link!

After his last performance, the judges surprised him by using the save. For the first time in American Idol’s history, the judges had a say with the results and reverse the audiences decision.

Matt is safe for now, but next week two contestants will be going home. So please vote for Matt everybody!

Matt performed “Have You Ever Loved A Woman”.

Matt is my favorite contestant but sadly he did not do too well last night. He gave the song a soulful twist but kind of ruined it for me. Hopefully he is still safe tomorrow night.

My favorite out of all the “other” American Idol contestants.

Matt sang “Part Time Lover”.

He did good tonight. He listened to the judges and went back to his soulful side this time (not that there’s anything wrong with his performance last week - I actually thought it was quite good and I love the Fray.)

I am rooting for this guy!

Underdog Matt Giraud sang You Found Me by The Fray.

The judges hated on Matt tonight! I don’t know what they found wrong with this performance - I thought it was amazing! This is one of the best for me tonight and this guy has been so consistent throughout the competition. Everyone needs to vote to save Matt from elimination. He was in the bottom 2 last week and it’d be a shame to see him go this early.

Dueling pianist Matt Giraud started the show last night with a good performance. He sang Let’s Get It On and did a good job.

I think this guy is the underdog of this season.
