Lil Rounds came out and sang “Heatwave” last night.

The judges did not like it at all which was kind of sad for her since you would think this is the genre she would totally outsing everyone.

I actually thought she did a very decent job.

Season favorite Danny Gokey performed “Get Ready”.

This show has pimped this guy more than anyone this season. He is a good singer but the hype is just too much and is setting him up for failure.

Smokey gave him some pointers on how to sing this song and he did agree to it during rehearsals. I am curious to know why he still went with the backup singers during the actual performance.

Michael Sarver sang “Ain’t Too Proud To Beg”.

I thought the performance was not too bad.

Looks like the judges are getting bored with Michael and is slowly building him up for elimination. I think he has a couple more weeks in him.

Megan Joy performed “For Once In My Life” last night doing her own quirky version.

The judges didn’t like it and Simon said that she might be the one to leave tonight.

I thought her performance was all over the place and I find her dancing just plain annoying. I guess she tries to be cute onstage.

Kris Allen performed “How Sweet It Is” last night using his guitar. He gets a confidence boost everytime he goes onstage behind his guitar.

Smokey Robinson was impressed with him during rehearsals.

Dueling pianist Matt Giraud started the show last night with a good performance. He sang Let’s Get It On and did a good job.

I think this guy is the underdog of this season.

Anood Dawg! This guy is a definite fan favorite.

He sang Ooh Baby Baby last night. A good but really uninteresting performance. His second ballad in a row. He needs to brighten it up next week with an upbeat song.

Judge favorite Allison Iraheta performed “Papa Was a Rolling Stone” last night.

This was actually pretty good. She was the last to perform and of course the show was running out of time because of Paula Abdul’s babbling so she didn’t get that much comments from the judges.

For a 16-year old, Allison has some very powerful vocals. She was in the bottom 3 last week so hopefully this performance will encourage viewers to vote.

American Idol’s theme last night was Motown and it was great.

Smokey Robinson was the guest coach of the night and was there to give the top 10 finalists some pointers on how they should tackle their challenge. He was wearing some very casual clothes which I did not get but hey, I guess you can wear whatever you want if you’re a legend like him.

Rancho Penasquitos’ very own Adam Lambert has again won the hearts of the judges for his rendition of “Tracks of My Tears”.

I really thought this guy was going to belt it out Freddie Mercury style but he surprised everyone with a mellow approach.
