The awesome Taylor T3/B (Bigsby) was recently reviewed by Music Players Inc. It earned a 3.6/4.0 stars to get the WIHO (Wish I Had One) Award that it truly deserves.

“We test-drove our Taylor T3/B through a Bogner Ecstasy, which provided an excellent clean tone without robbing the guitar of its true colors. The T3/B delivered everything you would expect from a Taylor.”

They even confirmed my observation that it’s the offspring of the T5 and the Solidbody.

The new Semi-hollow electric Taylor T3/B is in the cover of Premier Magazine April 2009 issue.

“The T3/B is not a ‘jack of all trades, master of none,’ but rather a well-thought-out instrument that plays great, sounds fantastic and looks incredible,” reviewer Steve Ouimette declares early on. He loved the “comfortable and fast-playing” neck, which he says “combined the best of all neck shapes into one, and lent itself to just about any style of playing.”

I am really excited for the Taylor T3 and I am hoping that it gets the mention it deserves on every publications.  Check out the story on Taylor Guitar News.

If you have received the new issue of Wood and Steel Magazine, you’ll see that Taylor Guitars has unveiled their first ever electric semi-hollow guitar, the T3.

Following the success of their popular T5 hybrid guitar and the SolidBody, Bob Taylor expands their electric line with this new addition. A merge between two designs, the T3 can produce sounds that the SolidBody and the T5 don’t have. It is in the shape of the T5 guitar but on a semi-hollow body.

The new model includes Taylor’s Style 2 humbuckers which are positioned to capture the T3’s fidelity and range of tones. A 3-way pickup switch can be used to create different tones. Coil splitting is available for both humbuckers by pulling up on the knob.

Another model is the T3B which features an authentic Bigsby Vibrato (model B70). The T3 incorporates the rolling bridge to eliminate the dragging string problem that is commonly found in fixed bridges.

You can expect the T3 and T3B to be available around mid-february in the US. If you live outside the country, you’d have to wait til Spring time.

Visit the Taylor Guitars booth at NAMM to check out the T3 in person.
