The new Semi-hollow electric Taylor T3/B is in the cover of Premier Magazine April 2009 issue.

“The T3/B is not a ‘jack of all trades, master of none,’ but rather a well-thought-out instrument that plays great, sounds fantastic and looks incredible,” reviewer Steve Ouimette declares early on. He loved the “comfortable and fast-playing” neck, which he says “combined the best of all neck shapes into one, and lent itself to just about any style of playing.”

I am really excited for the Taylor T3 and I am hoping that it gets the mention it deserves on every publications.  Check out the story on Taylor Guitar News.

You might have seen these before but I just wanted to post these beautiful Taylor Guitar Promo Artworks. I love what these images are trying to tell.

My favorite is the Taylor inside the jar. I would like to capture a beautiful thing like that and keep it inside a jar so that when I’m in the mood for a beautiful acoustic sound, I just open the lid and let it sings to my ears! It’s kind of like an mp3 player without the need for batteries.

The T5 as a bridge suspension is also great. It shows the innovation of Taylor with the T5 and how it is trying to connect two sides (acoustic and electric).

The skyscraper Taylor means that they are reaching new heights with their innovation. Proof of that is their successful venture to electrics. The T5 did fairly well as well as the new SolidBodies. And now they just came out with the T3 which is one of the most exciting thing that happened at the 2009 NAMM.

Here is a demo of the newly developed Plug and Play guitar pickups from Taylor.

The video shows how easy it is to swap out the new pickups. All you need is 15 minutes and a screwdriver!

The pickup comes in either the clean sounding HD (High Definition) or the fat and crunchy HG (High Gain).

If you have received the new issue of Wood and Steel Magazine, you’ll see that Taylor Guitars has unveiled their first ever electric semi-hollow guitar, the T3.

Following the success of their popular T5 hybrid guitar and the SolidBody, Bob Taylor expands their electric line with this new addition. A merge between two designs, the T3 can produce sounds that the SolidBody and the T5 don’t have. It is in the shape of the T5 guitar but on a semi-hollow body.

The new model includes Taylor’s Style 2 humbuckers which are positioned to capture the T3’s fidelity and range of tones. A 3-way pickup switch can be used to create different tones. Coil splitting is available for both humbuckers by pulling up on the knob.

Another model is the T3B which features an authentic Bigsby Vibrato (model B70). The T3 incorporates the rolling bridge to eliminate the dragging string problem that is commonly found in fixed bridges.

You can expect the T3 and T3B to be available around mid-february in the US. If you live outside the country, you’d have to wait til Spring time.

Visit the Taylor Guitars booth at NAMM to check out the T3 in person.

Premiere guitar maker Taylor Guitars was a recipient of California Waste Reduction Award for their committment in reducing the amount of waste that the company produces. The popular acoustic guitar maker was among 1,200 businesses recognized by the California Integrated Waste Management Board as part of its Waste Reduction Awards Program (WRAP).

Achievements by the company in 2007 are as follows:

* 35 tons of cardboard or 95% of the company’s total volume was recycled. The other 7 tons were reused in various ways throughout the factory.

* Over 20,000 pounds of paper was recycled in 2007. Other recycled and reused materials included plastic wrap, used printer toners, electronic equipment and grass trimmings.

* All oil and coolant products used in the factory and in manufacturing were recycled.

* Scrap wood and sawdust was converted into particleboard and mulch leading to its 100% reuse.

* Select pieces of scrap wood were donated to a local woodworking association to be transformed into toys for orphans in Tijuana, Mexico.

Taylor is constantly finding ways to reduce their waste and has adapted some innovative processes in the past.

Check out the Taylor Guitars website for their 2008 Fall Limiteds. The Limited Editions feature a pairing of cocobolo and koa, two of the most exotic woods available.  The rich colored cocobolo body is accented with the koa mini-wedge and binding. They also have Adirondack spruce bracing which helps create a more powerful and balanced acoustic sound.
