Adam Lambert’s pick for himself is “Cryin’” by Aerosmith.

This was the typical Adam Lambert performance complete with high notes and superstardom.

The judges all agree that he should be in the finals. While this performance is great, I liked his first song better.

Kris’ second song of the night is Heartless by Kanye West.

Kris came out with the guitar and just did his own version of the song.

All the judges loved it and commended him for being brave.

I do commend him for coming out and taking a risk. I didn’t get all the praises though. I thought this was a plain jane song and I did not get anything out of it. Oh well.

Danny’s second song of the night is “You Are So Beautiful.”

The judges all thought that this was great. Simon even called it a “vocal masterclass.”

I liked this one way better than his last song which was picked by Paula Abdul.

Adam Lambert wows the crowd with “One” by U2.

This song was picked by Simon Cowell for Adam. Simon went about to reveal that he contacted Bono personally to ask permission to use this song on the show.

The judges all praised Adam. I really liked this performance. This is probably one of my favorite of the season.

Kris Allen performs “Apologize” by One Republic.

This song was chosen by the judges for Kris. The judges gave it a good overall score. Kara said Kris needs to do more.

This was an okay performance. If this was not the semi-finals this would be a favorite.

Danny performs “Dance Little Sister Dance” by Terence Trent D’Arby.

The judges gave it a good rating. Kara and Simon did not care for the dancing.

Danny Gokey sings “Dream On” by Aerosmith on American Idol Top 4 (Rock Week).

Danny did a decent job. Second best of the night but obviously not enough to dethrone Adam Lambert. I don’t know what to say about that last scream - good? bad? I thought he was going to explode into pieces.

Simon calls the scream something out of a Friday the 13th movie. Randy gives it A+ for effort.

Kris Allen performs “Come Together” on American Idol Top 4.

Very mild performance from pretty boy Kris. I thought it needed a little more oomph! and it was not quite rock enough.

Simon Cowell said the performance was like eating ice for lunch. I’ve never really had ice for lunch but I could imagine how it would be.

American Idol Top 4 contestant Allison Iraheta sings “Cry Baby” by Janis Joplin.

I thought it was a solid performance but coming out after an Adam Lambert performance will always be hard.

Randy did not like the performance. Simon said that the vocals were good but it was unoriginal.

This week’s theme is Rock on American Idol Top 4 and I am happy to see they invited Slash to be the guest mentor.

Adam Lambert sang “Whole Lotta Love” by Led Zeppelin.

He was the first one to perform and set the bar really high. Adam rocked it out and all the judges loved him.

Randy told him he should make an album with Slash. Kara said Adam is a rock god. Simon said the only problem was that nobody could ever top that.

This is what Adam needs to pursue after the show, a rock album.
